Opportunities to volunteer with HelpAge Cambodia are available for professionals, students and interns.
“I worked as an intern for the Climate Change project. My duties involve working directly with older people in the villages to support activities to find local adaptation solutions to climate change. Volunteering is very important for improving ourselves in ways we have never done before and to help older people in communities.”

“I spent 9 months working with HelpAge providing volunteer service as an English-Khmer translator when working with OPA. Frankly, it was extremely inspiring and motivating.I accumulated knowledge and gained confident in serving older people. It was a very impressive experience that I had never got from anywhere else in my life.”
Ridan from Cambodia, volunteer, 9 months

“My role at HelpAge was centred on financial management – assisting the Finance Manager to implement new accounting software, strengthen controls and provide training. Volunteering as an Accountant overseas was a great first step to understanding the aid and development sector and a thoroughly rewarding experience.”
Tom from the UK, volunteer, 2 months
“I worked for HelpAge for two months assisting in project planning, preparing funding proposals and developing a fundraising strategy. I joined staff on field trips to monitor various project activities such as home care where older members of the community take care of others who need assistance with the normal routines of life such as food preparation, bathing, etc. Observing these practical activities ‘brought to life’ the project planning work in which I was engaged back in the office.”
